Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by chair Michael Rainville. Motion was made (Pete Gamades), seconded (Bob Ludford) and carried to approve the May minutes. Financial report was reviewed; Gamades and Rainville are processing paperwork at bank to be STAWNO account signators.
Written report was presented by Ron Korsh of the Land Use Committee. Committee will need maps; members will reconvene in September. GMHC acquired two houses on Main Street for demolition; design concepts will be shown in September.
B.F. Nelson committee met in conjunction with Land Use Committee. Rainville is concerned about not communicating plans on amenities desired to Park Board/staff. Plan needs to be worked on now. Signage needs discussion.
Gamades reported on activities of Fundraising/Outreach Committee. Oct. 8 will be Autumn Eve/5K run events. Group is trying to get Park Board as sponsor. Mayslack's has offered a fundraising opportunity to STAWNO for B.F. Nelson activities; details to come to those interested in volunteering.
Consensus approval was given to send a STAWNO letter to Second Precinct Inspector regarding lack of 911 responders and crime spike. Neighborhood's past hard work is going out the window now, he said.
Tony Hofstede will be asked to move up from alternate to board member due to Joyce Vincent's resignation from board. Other alternates will move up accordingly. (Hofstede later joined meeting and agreed.)
Korsh said lots of changes are proposed for bylaws. Community notification will eventually be needed. Linda Olson plans to have proposal this fall; group is studying other neighborhoods' bylaws.
Committees may still meet this summer, but this is last regular board meeting until September. Watch your e-mail for updates, when needed.
Noise ordinance was discussed. Call 911 and housing inspector to accumulate a record on problem properties.
NRP Phase II plan is needed. Will review survey results in September and get moving on this after October fundraiser. Think about how the public process should move along. 70 percent of dollars must go to housing-related activities.
Meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
